Backup software

There is nothing worse than your computer crashing, with it important documents such as presentations and financial invoices disappearing as well. Thankfully such instances can be avoided with backup software. However it is up to a computer user/owner to make sure that backups are updating regularly.
Backup software is designed to automate the process of backing up data making it a lot easier to ensure users backup their files on a regular basis. There are countless backup software that one may buy and multiple company produce free backup software suites that can be used by any computer user.
Backup software normally comes in two forms:
• Automatic mode: Here backup works in a time interval set by the user and a manual override is require to stop the backups.
• Manual mode:  Users activate the software whenever they want to back up files.
There is also backup software for smart phones these days for those who on occasion sync their computers with their phones.

Desktop Computers

Whenever someone thinks of the word “desktop” these days the thought that comes along is desktop wallpapers or desktop screen savers, people often forget that desktop is a term used to describe what we refer to as personal computers (PCs).
A desktop computer is popularly known as a personal computer that is built to be used at a desk, many people favour a desktop computer over a laptop, as a PC has an element of stability to it. Originally desktop computers were seen as smaller computers but these days desktops have become extremely big computers that to laptops and notebooks.
Here are a few public areas where you’re a more likely to find desktop computers over laptops:
• Internet café
• Library
• Offices
• Post office
Unlike a laptop desktop computers are not designed to be portable making them the best tools for public usage as they are situated firmly onto a desk and the risk of the computer being is highly unlikely.

Free Software

By definition software is all the elements of a computers make that we are able to see but cannot physical touch such as windows XP, these types of software are available online for download however there is a major difference between free software and freeware which many people may not know about.
Free software also known as software libre and/or open source software is a form of software that can be modified by the software owner, often software may be redistributed and sold by the person who has done modifications on it.
The major difference between software and freeware is:
• Software: Found free of charge, however allows to be modified and redistributed
• Freeware: Found free online, however cannot be modified, e.g. video game
Free software downloads may be software of any kind that any user may wish to install and/or modify in whichever way he/she sees fits.

Hard drives

Basically if your computer’s hard drive is damaged then you have no computer at all. Hard drives are the heart of the computer they work in a way that a vital human organ such as the heart would operate, giving life to the computer and once the hard drive is gone so will be the fate of the computer.
Hard drives are a fundamental part of modern computers, also known as a hard disk drive or HDD, the hard drive store all the  programs and files within a computer.
Every computer comes with a built in hard drive, those who need extra space make use of external hard drives.
An external hard drive isn’t part of the basic computer make-up, external hard drives are portable thus sit outside the computer and connect; commonly through USB portals allowing the user to store information on a hard drive that is not inside the computer.

Laptops

Depending on the line of business that one is in, a laptop can be your best friend, when one has work to do and lots of travelling to do as well he/she may take their laptop onto the plane and get in a few work hours.
A laptop is a smaller and more portable version of a computer, fairly popular amongst many, the laptop is mobile meaning you can take it virtually anywhere and work on it anytime you want without being restricted to a desk.
A few facts people should know when considering buying laptops:
• Cost more that desktops
• Portable
• Not upgradeable
• Lighter in weight
• Battery or AC powered computer
• Some laptops are known as notebooks
I have both a laptop and a desktop computer I prefer working on my laptop as I can move around with it and prefer how small and compact it is, plus I can sit on a recliner and still be productive with a laptop.
